Gourmet Express Catering (GEC) was founded right here in Central Florida by Chef Laura Fernandez, whose passion for hosting and love of creating unforgettable meals have been at the heart of her journey.

Laura's serious culinary journey began in 2015 with a weekly meal prep program designed to support seniors and individuals who were unable to cook for themselves. Driven by a desire to serve her community, Laura took a bold step in 2017 and transformed her passion into a full-fl edged catering company, Gourmet Express Catering.

What started as a dream quickly became a reality, thanks to the unwavering support of her community. Laura’s food didn’t just nourish—it brought people together, creating moments of joy and connection.

But no venture is without its challenges. From navigating the complexities of cooking for large groups to overcoming a failed partnership and enduring the 2020 pandemic, GEC faced its share of hurdles. During those diffi cult times, Laura returned to her roots—preparing comforting home-cooked meals for families, friends, and the community. She worked tirelessly with clients to safely reschedule events and ensure every delivery brought a sense of care and normalcy.

Through resilience, creativity, and a commitment to her craft, Laura and her team have rebuilt and grown stronger. By 2024, GEC has reached new heights, fueled by an incredible team that shares Laura’s vision of creating meaningful connections through food.

Now, with a state-of-the-art mobile kitchen trailer named GE's Canteen, GEC is more equipped than ever to serve Central Florida with top-quality cuisine and exceptional service. Whether it’s an intimate gathering or a grand celebration, our goal remains the same: to bring people together, one meal at a time.

Between gatherings we utilize the Canteen to serve the community in different locations! Currently serving the West Deland area via The Inn Between!
